Parent support for mental health issues
We not only support pupils with mental health but want to support parents and carers to support themselves.
We offer a range of services and support for parents and carers including training to be a mental health first aider- this is an accredited course and is delivered by our own staff.
We have also produced a parent support leaflet for the Dewsbury family of schools:

If you have any concerns about yourself or your child in the first instance please contact either Gail Swaine (Pastoral Leader) or Kerry Williams-Kendall (Vice Principal)- both of these members of staff are qualified in Mental Health First Aid and they can direct you to the support you may need.
We can offer a confidential meeting in a relaxed area of school and can help you find a way forward.
We have many support packages for both parents and children in our school community, some examples are listed below:
- play therapy
- parent and child workshops
- counselling services
- draw and talk therapy
