Art and Design
Art is an expression of a child’s creativity where they develop higher order thinking skills to make decisions on how they can express their thoughts and ideas visually. Art gives children the opportunity to make conscious decisions on how something looks and use different techniques, skills and knowledge they acquire. Within school we can facilitate pupils’ ability to express themselves through art by giving them the tools, knowledge and skills to help them develop as artists.
We see art as a process at Boothroyd, where children have access to high quality teaching, resources, stimulus and experience to enable them to achieve and become effective artists. We have key concepts that run through all aspects of our art curriculum.
