EDUCATIONAL TEACHING ASSISTANT (YEAR 6)

Due to continued expansion and increasing pupil/staff ratios, we are looking to employ an ETA to work within our year 6 team at Boothroyd Primary Academy.

Our educational support staff have a dual role within our school community.

1)         Supporting teaching IN the classroom, working with small groups of children        during lessons

2)         Supporting and improving progress of small groups of children OUT of the classroom through intervention work

Actual Salary £12,604 to £13,976 per annum

27.5 Hours Per Week TTO + 1 week

 (8:45 am to 3:15 pm)

As Learning Support Assistant SEN, you will be supporting the learning for a specific pupil in year 1 who can present real difficulties in mainstream classes, in terms of communication and attention span. You will be a resilient person who is looking for a challenge in providing great support in this 1:1 role.

Experience of working with children with SEN and knowledge of the national curriculum and current inclusion practices would be desirable for this role.

Cover Supervisor

SCP 14-17 (Grade 7)

£11.64 to £12.35 per hour

31 Hours TTO + 1 Week

£16,277 to £17,743 (Actual Salary)

We are keen to appoint a creative and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to cover staff absence and training days. You will be required to cover all subjects and all key stages in this role, though it will predominantly be covering upper key stage 2 classes.  We are seeking strong candidates with a high level of initiative and strong classroom management skills.

You will be an enthusiastic individual who is able to use your own initiative whilst also being able to relate well and establish a rapport with young people. You will need to be flexible and able to work constructively as a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities. The successful candidate will be fully supported in their career and professional development through a vast programme of CPD provided by the academy.

Nursery Nurse

27.5 Hours per week – term time only + one week

Point 14 to 17 (Grade 7)

Hourly Rate £11.64 to £12.35

Actual Salary – £14,436 to £15,317

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • To supervise and be fully involved with children in the early years unit during all activities indoors and out.
  • To contribute to the development of all children by working alongside them and enriching their play by providing additional ideas, materials and experiences as appropriate.
  • To contribute to observation, planning and assessment for all children.
  • To be responsible for a designated group of children, working with these children and other small groups at certain times of the day.
  • To cover for the Nursery/Reception teachers in their absence e.g for PPA cover
  • To contribute towards planning suitable developmental activities for children in line with the Early Learning Goals.
  • Setting up displays and activity corners connected with on-going interests or themes.
  • Displaying children’s work attractively and with sensitive regard to their differently developing skills and abilities.
  • To support children with toilet training in a positive way to build self-esteem.
  • To administer first aid and comfort to sick children appropriately.
  • To be aware of child protection issues, identifying and monitoring suspected child abuse.

NECESSARY EXPERIENCE:

  • Good standard of general education together with GCSE grade C or above in English & Maths.
  • Minimum of NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Early Years and Childcare Development.
  • Minimum previous experience – 1 to 2 years.
  • Basic ICT skills.
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety, security, equal opportunities and confidentiality.
