PART TIME NURSERY NURSE

Hours -20 hours per week (12:00 to 4:00 pm) term time only

(Pay Scale 23-25)  (£9,922 to  £10,570) Actual salary

 MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • To supervise and be fully involved with children during all activities indoors and out.
  • To contribute to the development of all children by working alongside them and enriching their play by providing additional ideas, materials and experiences as appropriate.
  • To contribute to observation, planning and assessment for all children.
  • To be responsible for a designated group of children, working with these children and other small groups at certain times of the day.
  • To cover for the Nursery Teacher in her absence e.g for PPA cover
  • To contribute towards planning suitable developmental activities for children in line with the Early Learning Goals.
  • Setting up displays and activity corners connected with on-going interests or themes.
  • Displaying children’s work attractively and with sensitive regard to their differently developing skills and abilities.
  • To support children with toilet training in a positive way to build self-esteem.
  • To administer first aid and comfort to sick children appropriately.
  • To be aware of child protection issues, identifying and monitoring suspected child abuse.

NECESSARY EXPERIENCE:

  • Good standard of general education together with GCSE grade C or above in English & Maths.
  • Minimum of NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Early Years and Childcare Development.
  • Minimum previous experience – 1 to 2 years.
  • Basic ICT skills.
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety, security, equal opportunities and confidentiality.
  • The ability to relate well to children and adults.
  • The applicant must show passion and enthusiasm for the job and be willing to learn and be a productive member of the team.

BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT ASSISTANT

Hours -15 hours per week (mornings) – term time only

(Pay Scale 18 – 21)  £6,336 To £7,061 Actual salary

 You will work on a one to one basis with one child, assisting them in and out of the classroom. You will work closely with other school staff in supporting the child you are working with, often tracking and reviewing the child’s progress. You will assist with school work in various subjects, and will often need to find ways to keep that pupil engaged in lessons. You will need to build a relationship and gain trust from the pupil in order for you to help them improve and raise their attainment in school.

Team teach is essential.  You will have experience of working with children with challenging behaviour and be committed and passionate about working with children with additional needs.

Skills/Experience required:

  • support with students with challenging behaviour
  • Strong classroom presence and a flexible approach
  • Ability to work under challenging circumstances, with a passion for education and SEN/behavioural difficulties
  • Confident in delivering a firm but fair approach
  • Empathetic, patient and uses their initiative when working with children
  • Flexible and has experience of working with KS2 children.
  • Enjoys working as part of a team
  • Able to support teaching and learning in PE
